Conor was appointed as Professor of Work-Based Learning at Sheffield Hallam University (SHU) in August 2021 in recognition of his contribution to employability and work-based learning. He is an accomplished academic with over 20 years’ experience in Higher Education having started his academic career working in Business Schools specialising in strategic management, leadership development and organisational development.
As Dean of Work-Based Learning, Conor ran a large service to develop the institution’s award-winning employability, enterprise and employer engagement service. Conor has led the development of new business facing service at two institutions including the rapid growth of Degree Apprenticeships, CPD and employer led provision at SHU.
Conor commenced his post as Dean of the College for Business, Technology and Engineering in May 2022; a multi-disciplinary college with 12,000 students. Conor’s priorities include better aligning our R&I strengths to our varied taught portfolio and leveraging the opportunities of such an innovative, multidisciplinary and industry focused College.
Conor is a Corporate Partnerships Lead and Principal Lecturer at Sheffield Hallam University responsible for the development and implementation of innovative, flexible and employer focused learning solutions. A Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy he has worked for many years in Higher Education where he has developed innovative, flexible University Frameworks to deliver employer focused programmes from a range of public and private sector organisations.
